My family is originally from Costa Rica, I was born in Montreal and yet some how I ended up growing up in the exotic state of Utah. I'm a bilingual mother of boys and an avid taco eater.

I'm a Project Manager, Event Planner,  Vaginal Steam Facilitator, Cuarentena Postpartum Doula, and Birth Doula. I am so passionate about empowering women and have found my calling in creating uplifting experiences for women. Also I have found a tremendous love in helping women to tend, and reconnect to their heart, spirit, and womb. For my entire adult life I've worked 9-5 as a project manager for different companies here in Utah. I've helped start non profits, planned events, written grants, developed content, managed marketing campaigns, and have worked in business development. After 7 years, I've left that area of work to be a full time mom-prenuer to combine my passions and my skills. I'm so glad I get to do both with my doula bestie and business partner JaTem with The Postpartum Revolution Conference.

My hobbies include painting, dance parties in the kitchen, spending time outside with my boys, and romantic walks to the freezer for ice cream.

Hi There -- I'm JaTem! I've lived in Utah my whole life, I married my high school sweetheart 7 years ago, and we have two beautiful girls together.

I have a few different titles! I am a passionate Registered Nurse currently working with hospice patients, a Certified Lactation Educator assisting moms to nourish their babies with confidence and knowledge, and a Birth Doula, supporting women in achieving their dream births! I love all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The process of pregnancy through motherhood is such a beautiful experience that I can't help but find myself seeking ways to support women during this time --it's my passion, and my "why"! However, of all my titles, Mom is by far my favorite!

I am passionate about bringing awareness to the postpartum stage of life, as I have personally experienced the gap in care as a postpartum women.  This sacred time should be honored and embraced with knowledge, confidence and support. That's why I'm here!

The conference will kick off with our talented and wise mental health therapist Laura, who is specialized and trained in maternal mental health.

The most common complication of pregnancy and childbirth is a mental health issue. In Laura's presentation she will cover how to prepare mentally and emotionally for the shift into motherhood, as well as the difference between baby blues, postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety. Pregnancy and postpartum can be a very difficult and vulnerable time for many women. You will learn tools to support yourself, your partner and friends. It's going to be so great!

Up next our lovely and creative Postpartum Cuarentena Doula Jazmin will be walking us through a very hands on and interactive workshop where you will learn how to prepare for the postpartum period and go home with a written postpartum plan.

New mamas need information about what to expect during the postpartum period - the physical healing, the necessity of meal trains, rest, boundaries, how the relationship with the partner changes, that all feelings are welcome, that its temporary and at the same time completely life changing.

Preparing for postpartum matters and will help you feel empowered through out the experience, and create space for you to immerse yourself in the new mama experience. So cool!

After lunch we will dive into our breastfeeding education portion of the conference taught by our kind and passionate Certified Lactation Educator JaTem. This segment is designed to set you up for breastfeeding success with education and support! The following topics will be covered:

-Breastfeeding benefits
-Anatomy and Physiology
-Postion and Latch
-Maintaining breastfeeding

-Demand and supply
-Common concerns

The goal of this segment is to assist you to feel informed and confident in your ability to breastfeed your baby! Can't wait to get on "breastie" level with you!

The conference will end with a bang!  Our "Thriving with your newborn" workshop will be taught by our amazing and caring Newborn Educator Rickie!

Rickie has been a Childbirth/Newborn Care Educator for 14 years, she is also a CAPPA Postpartum Doula and she has a Bachelors Degree in Health Promotion.

This workshop will teach you how to read your baby's cues and understand their body language so that you can respond to their needs quickly and lovingly. Rickie will also be covering the best soothing techniques and how to comfort a fussy or colicky baby along with discussing what questions to ask yourself when creating a postpartum plan so that you can balance responsibilities, rest, care for your newborn, and know where to turn for support and resources in your community. How amazing is she? We can not wait!
